Star Blast Bang Energy Drink Review

Okay so I won't go too in depth talking about Bang Energy Drinks in general, I'm assuming you've tried Bang. Just briefly for anyone who isn't familiar with it, VPX Sports is the maker of Bang Energy Drinks. Bang Energy Drinks kind of revolutionized the energy drink market which previously really only consisted of Redbull, Rockstar, and Monster as the major players.

Bang was the first to do a popular mainstream high caffeine energy drink. Bang's pack 300mg of caffeine into every can along with some additional ingredients like CoQ10, BCAAs, and Super Creatine, along with an energy blend containing Taurine and the other typical ingredients you find in an energy drink. Best of all Bang's have no calories and no sugars.

Okay, so let's talk about the taste because that's what this post is mainly about. Star Blast is one of my favorite Bang Energy drink flavors. One thing I like about Bang's just in general is they taste good, but beyond that they don't taste like artificial sweeteners or chemicals, it tastes like a normal tasty drink. It's also not syrupy like a Redbull or typical energy drinks.

As far as this particular flavor, I'm not sure if Star Blast is supposed to be a take on Starburst or a Star Fruit, I'd lean towards saying Starburst Candy. I can't really nail down a particular flavor so I'd almost say it's akin to eating an entire pack of Starburst at one time and having the red, pink, yellow, and orange Starburst candies all at once.

It smells almost like a bag of gummy bears with a tropical kind of aroma to it. The taste is similar and adds a candy like sweetness, with a bit of sour or tanginess. While it's incredibly sweet there's actually no sugar in this drink, or any Bang drinks for that matter.

The after taste is sweet and doesn't leave any weird tastes on your tongue of artificial sweeteners or chemicals, it's actually a very crisp finish and as with pretty much every Bang drink it's refreshing.

As far as the energy goes, as you probably know Bang is one of the strongest energy drinks out there with 300mg of caffeine. That's equivalent to about 3 cups of coffee. It's recommended not to exceed 400mg of caffeine in a single day.

Within a few minutes of opening and sipping on one of these cans you'll feel a rush of energy, and it can be pretty intense. The energy from Bang Energy drinks is a pretty clean energy and lasts anywhere from 3-5 hours depending on how intense the activity your doing is. Some people claim there's a mild crash, there is a bit of a comedown from a Bang but nothing too crazy. Stay hydrated and you should be good.

Overall this is a very tasty energy packed drink. If you don't like things really sweet this may not be the best flavor for you, however if you don't mind something a bit sweet you'll love it. Personally I feel like a Redbull is way sweeter and much more syrupy than Bang which IMHO is actually pretty crisp and refreshing.
