Gym Weed Hemp Extract Energy Drink Review

 

So recently I saw a new energy drink on Instagram called Gym Weed, and being a stoner the name and branding immediately caught my eye. Upon digging in a bit further and checking out their website I learned that Gym Weed is made by MuscleMilk, the maker of those ready to drink protein shakes, something I used to drink back in the day and really enjoyed so I figured I'd give them a try. On the GymWeed.Com website they offer a 3 Can Sampler pack which includes one can of each flavor for just $10.99 so I decided to put in an order and give them a try. The three flavors they send out are unique flavors I haven't tried in other energy drinks and they included Tropical Berry, Stone Fruit, and Pear Pineapple. 

Before we get into the actual review let's dive a bit further into the actual product. So Gym Weed is a lightly carbonated energy drink that features 200mg of natural caffeine from Green Tea which provides a nice clean smooth energy. It also has 20mg of Broad Spectrum Hemp Extract, 125mg of Lion's Mane for mental focus, and 200mg of L-Theanine to mellow you out along with the CBD, all of this along with Electrolytes for hydration and B Vitamins to support energy. There's a lot of people out there who believe you shouldn't drink carbonated beverages before a workout so it's nice that this beverage is only lightly carbonated. It's also worth adding that Gym Weed is Vegan, and contains zero sugar, no artificial flavors, and only 10 calories per can. 

A couple observations about the ingredients. I'm a big fan of natural caffeine over caffeine anhydrous so love that it has natural caffeine. As far as the L-Theanine and Lion's Mane a lot of energy drinks tout ingredients like CoQ10, Creatine or BCAAs in their marketing but the beverages contain such low amounts it's negligible, Gym Weed is actually dosed pretty well with the L-Theanine and Lion's Mane.

So first and foremost let's talk effects before we talk flavor. Gym Weed contains 200mg of natural caffeine which in my opinion is just the right amount of caffeine, personally I find the Bang and Monster Energy drinks to be a tad bit too much. The effects from either the CBD and/or L-Theanine are definitely noticeable, you feel a nice relaxed feeling, you feel the tension leave your shoulders and a sense of relaxation. My friend said his eyes felt a bit heavy and he felt very mellow, though I can't say that I had that effect. This was a bit surprising to me as well as this buddy of mine is a guy who smokes weed daily.

Gym Weed Pear Pineapple Flavor Review

The Pear Pineapple flavor was my personal favorite. One thing I really like about these drinks is that they aren't clear like most energy drinks, there seems to be some actual fruit or fruit juice in the mix. The flavor is much more natural than most energy drinks with no chemical taste, this is something I notice about energy drinks with a few calories, even if it's only 10 or 20 calories, energy drinks with calories tend to taste much better than zero calorie energy drinks. This flavor reminded me slightly of the Joe Rogan Kill Cliff CBD Energy Drink but without the spice at the end. Pineapple is the dominant flavor and it's a very natural pineapple flavor. The pineapple flavor is tart tangy and sweet and it finishes off with just a hint of pear. 

Gym Weed Stone Fruit Flavor Review

So I was initially confused by what a Stone Fruit was, however after a bit of Googling I learned stone fruits include any fruit with a pit so this can be peaches, nectarines, cherries and plumbs. I really enjoyed this flavor and I think this was the most flavorful of all three as well as the sweetest of all three. I want to say this flavor is some combination of various stone fruits but most notably was peach with maybe a hint of nectarine.

Gym Weed Tropical Berry Flavor Review

The Tropical Berry flavor was good but was my least favorite among the three, oddly enough this was my friends favorite among the three. I had a hard time nailing down the flavor but it seems to be a mixed berry type flavor with a hint of a pina colada type flavor but was unsure to tell if that was a pineapple or coconut flavor mixed in there.

Overall I was a HUGE fan of Gym Weed Energy Drinks. Loved the fact there was natural caffeine, loved the light carbonation and the natural taste, as well as the unique flavors. Many energy drinks either taste artificial or like chemicals or are syrupy, not at all the case with Gym Weed, this was one of the best and most natural energy drinks I've had in a long time. This is a newer brand so at least at this time you're probably unlikely to see this at your local gas station or grocery store, though you may luck out and find it at your local natural food store or supplement shop. InnovaPharm Adds to Their Essentials Series with All New Hemp Elite Supplement

 

As have many supplement brands, InnovaPharm in recent months has been adding more products to it's simple "Essential Series" of more basic supplements. So far the line contains supplements like Berberine, Elderberry Gummies, and similar basic supplements. 

Well, InnovaPharm has added an all new product to the line called Hemp Elite which is a concentrated hemp extract to support rest, sleep, and support mood. This product also aims to alleviate inflammation throughout the body. Hemp Elite comes in a 30 capsule tub and contains 25mg of hemp extract per serving. Kill Cliff Recover CBD Recovery Beverage Gets a New Can Design & Flashy Rebranding

 

The CBD Beverage Company Kill Cliff a while back rebranded their Energy Drink Ignite. The brand has followed through with this rebranding with it's other products as well. This time they've re-done the can design on their hydration beverage Kill Cliff Recover with a colorful and unique design. 

Nothing's actually changed with the formula or the flavors, it's just a rebranding and a new can. Kill Cliff Recover will still pack 25mg of caffeine with CBD, B Vitamins and Electrolytes and will be available in five flavors including Gangsta's Berry Dise, Lemon Lime Lightning, Tasty Blood Orange, Five Finger Pom Punch, and Berry Legit Lemonade.

Kill Cliff CBD Drink Introduces a New Strawberry Daze Strawberry Lemonade Flavor

We've posted about Kill Cliff in the past, the company who makes tasty CBD Infused Beverages. Well, Kill Cliff has recently announced an all new flavor which will join the current line-up which includes GOAT, Mango Tango, and the brands first ever flavor Orange Kush. In similar fashion this new flavor will feature 25mg of CBD along with electrolytes for hydration and B Vitamins for energy. Best of all this drink features no sugar and only 15 calories per can.

New Parform Golf-FRZ Colling Relief Gel Featuring 300mg Hemp Extract

A while back Golf Brand Parform rolled out their first ever CBD Product, a CBD Chewing Gum. The brand has continued going deeper into the CBD category with tinctures, topical formulas and additional flavors of their gum.

Parform just added another CBD Product to the brands line-up, this time a product called Golf-FRZ a cooling relief gel. This formula is a topical roll-on supplement packing 300mg of whole spectrum hemp extract per bottle, alongside aloe vera geel and jojoba oil.

Golf-FRZ aims to provide users with pain relief and potentially a reduction in inflammation, as well as relief from aches and pains. Beast Sports Rolls Out a Somewhat Underwhelming CBD Tincture

Beast Sports has made their entrance into the crowded CBD category. The brand is selling their CBD products through a separate website over at BeastSportsCBD.Com, likely because of issues with credit card processing.

Beast Sports CBD is a traditional tincture style CBD supplement which provides 10mg of CBD isolate in each half dropper serving, also featuring Liposome delivery for enhanced absorption.

While it's exciting to see a bigger name like Beast Sports get into the CBD market, a space where over 70% of the products don't have the CBD they claim, its great to see some reputable names enter this space.

That said 10mg is an incredibly low amount of CBD, you'd need about 3 full droppers or 6 servings of Beast CBD to get the low end of an effective dose. Also, we're bigger fans of full spectrum CBD's which have all the cannabinoids and terpenes.

Nutrabolics Announces New Caffeinated CBD Beverage Called "Nocturnal Energy Drink"

Nutrabolics is a supplement line who's put out some impressive offerings in the past year or two from their Sleep Formula Blackout to their Feed protein bar.

Here in 2020 the Canadian brand has revealed an all new beverage called Nocturnal which is the brands first new product here in 2020, and is also their first offering in the beverage category.

Nutrabolics Nocturnal is interesting both in the name, as well as the combination of CBD and Caffeine, so it's designed to provide focus and energy as well as relaxation. This seems somewhat similar to VPX Bang's Stoked Energy drink which is a CBD Beverage that comes in a caffeinated and non-caffeinated version.

No word yet on dosages of the caffeine content or the CBD, although if we had to guess, we're guessing maybe 150mg of caffaine and 25mg of CBD. We don't have an official release date as of yet either, but we're told it should be out soon.

We're excited to learn more about this drink as well as get our hands on it and give it a try.

Today we're going to be reviewing an All New CBD Product from Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals. Hi-Tech a company most well known for their Fat Burners and ProHormones lately has been rolling out a lot more Vitamin and Overall Health related products like their more recent Tumeric 95, Testovite, and Vitamin C supplements. It seems the brand is also venturing into the CBD space as well.

What's really exciting about Hi-Tech's CBD RX is that it's the most potent and powerful CBD product on the market. In a space where most CBD suppliers are putting anywhere from 5mg to 25mg into their CBD tinctures, Hi-Tech has packed 3000mg of Full Spectrum CBD into a bottle which equates to 50mg of CBD per serving or per dropper, twice what most competitors are doing.

With CBD, in my experience a 10mg or even 25mg dosage of CBD isn't going to do much, for the full effects I like somewhere between 50mg and 200mg depending on the affects your going after, and CBD Rx actually delivers this amount.

Hi-Tech's CBD is grown indoors by a licensed CBD grower in Wisconsin, they use proprietary drying and a Co2 Extraction method which is both the cleanest and best way to extract all those good terpenes and cannabinoids.

The taste is god awful to be completely honest, it's a very strong taste so I'd recommend mixing this with your morning smoothie or a glass of juice as opposed to just taking a tincture dropper under the tongue. As far as the effects though, fantastic. Within 10 or 12 minutes of taking this I immediately felt a tightness and soreness in my shoulders from my workout the day before go away. I felt a sense of relaxation and wellbeing. I'm a huge fan.

SELFe Reveals All New Roll-On CBD Product CBD FRZ in Full Spectrum & Isolate Versions

Canadian Supplement Brand PharmaFreak, best known for their intense Pre-Workout supplement SuperFreak has shared a sneak peak at an interesting new CBD product the brand has in production. While CBD is a growing category and is incredibly popular, we haven't seen a ton of larger brands venturing into the space.

The upcoming product set to be called CBD Freak is a full spectrum CBD formula in capsule form. No word yet on the dosage, and we can't quite make it out from the label. Most companies seem to put out the same standard 10mg capsules, however because the brand isn't afraid to go big, we wouldn't be surprised to see potentially a 25mg capsule.

While CBD Freak is still in production, fans of the Pharma Freak brand can go to the Pharma Freak website to be added to an email list to be notified once this product drops. We'll keep you updated as we learn more.

iSatori Launches All New CBD + Joints | CBD Joint Support Formula

Another brand is entering the CBD space. iSatori is launching an all new joint formula called CBD + Joints-X5.

iSatori hasn't shared much info about this all new CBD Joint Formula, however it is meant to provide benefits for joint health. It's THC free, pure CBD Oil with 15mg of CBD per serving, along with some other ingredients, likely Glucosamine and a few others which promote joint health.

This one should become available in the near future.

Kill Cliff Begins Pre-Selling New Flavors, The Goat & Mango Tango

Kill Cliff has officially rolled out two new flavors of their popular CBD Beverages. Previously Kill Cliff came in just a single flavor, Orange Krush. The two new tastes joining Kill Cliff were introduced a few weeks back, but are finally available. The new flavors being Mango Tango, and The GOAT, which is a grape flavor.

Both new flavors are available at KillCliffCBD.Com where fans of CBD Beverages can pick-up a 12 pack of either flavor for $69. While the brand is selling these new flavors currently, they won't actually ship until December 5, a few weeks away.

Axis Labs New CBD Boost w/ 15mg CBD Per Serving

Supplement brand Axis Labs has announced an all new CBD product which should be rolling out in the coming months. CBD Boost is a powder formula which packs in 15mg of CBD in each serving. CBD Boost can be mixed with a variety of ingredients from water, to juices, to smoothies, as the brand says the powder is tasteless.

CBD Boost is made with tapioca flour, and coconut water, and comes in with only 10 calories and 2 grams of carbs. CBD Boost will launch in a 60 serving tub through the brand's specialty CBD website AxisLabsCBD.Com

Golf Brand Parform Adds 2 New CBD Products to its Line-Up

A few weeks back we wrote about Parform rolling out an all new CBD chewing gum. Parform, the golf and sports nutrition brand at the time had announced they had other products in the works, but hadn't let on what those other products might be.

Well, Parform has announced they now offer CBD tincture bottles which includes 750mg of CBD, along with a CBD topical product which contains 250mg of CBD per jar. All Parform CBD products to date are full spectrum products and not CBD isolates.

All these products which are part of the Parform CBD line-up are now available for sale on the brand's online store, right alongside their first ever supplements, their Birdie Bar and Vegan Friendly Protein Powder.

Stoked CBD Drink Gets a New Logo & New Look

The recently rolled out Stoked CBD Beverages from VPX Sports, the company behind Bang Energy Drinks is getting an all new look. The cans which initially were very "Trippy" have gotten a new logo and an all new look to the packaging, a bit toned down.

Jack Owoc, CEO of Bang Energy said "The demand for Stoked is huge. Our brilliant research and product development team along with marketing, sales, media, etc continue to evolve and invest the future. Everything we do is radically different. We zig when everybody else is zagging."

Stoked has been sought after since it was first announced way back at the beginning of 2019. Unfortunately this exciting new beverage has been hard for consumers to get their hands on. Very few online retailers are selling it, likely due to merchant processors not allowing the sale of CBD, and Stoked has even been slow to make it's rounds out to brick and mortar retailers.

Caffeine Infused CBD Gummies from Halkon

The CBD category of supplements seems to be getting a new supplement from a new brand daily. One thing that's surprised me is the amount of CBD products we're seeing with caffeine added, one of the most notable ones Bang Stoked CBD drink which has 250mg of caffeine.

My initial reaction is CBD is for relaxation and destressing, I don't necessarily think about mixing it with caffeine, however some people report that CBD can make them sleepy, so I suppose for some maybe this gives some of that relaxation or some of the anti-inflammatory properties with a jolt of caffeine to keep you going.

This relatively new company Kalkon currently has a line of topical pain relief creams and a CBD sleep support formula, however the brand is growing it's line with CBD Gummies. Kalkon has announced Battle Bears which are sour edible CBD gummies with 10mg of CBD per gummy along with 200mg of caffeine.

While Battle Bears are not yet available through the brand's own website or other online retailers, it should be rolling out soon. The brand says they'll continue rolling out more CBD products in the near future.

Insane Labs Announces All New "Candy Man" CBD Infused Gummies

Insane Labz has announced an all new CBD product. Now this will not be the brand's first foray into the popular and growing CBD space. Insane Labz already has Strain, a CBD infused pre-workout, they are also in the process of rolling out a CBD joint cream called Roasted Joints.This newest CBD product from Insane Labs is called Candy Man and appears to be CBD infused candy gummies with premium CBD. While the brand hasn't elaborated on how, they say it's different than anything else on the market.

These Candy Man Gummies will have zero sugar, that's about all the info we have as of yet, we don't know how much CBD per gummy, flavors, or much else. We'll keep you posted as we get more info on this exciting new offering from Insane Labs.

Review of Bang Stoked with CannaBlast CBD - Strawberry Blonde and Mango Bango Flavors Reviewed

Way back at the beginning of 2019, we had posted about how the all new Bang Stoked CBD drink was going to be previewed at the USA CBD Expo in Miami Beach. Well here we are at the end of September and we were just FINALLY able to get our hands on a couple cans of Stoked to bring you a full review.

So Stoked is a CBD infused beverage from Bang Energy. There's two versions, a caffeinated version with 250mg of caffeine, just slightly less than a traditional Bang, as well as a caffeine free version. 

The CBD featured in Stoked is a hemp Cannablast branded CBD derived from hemp. It's also a Full Spectrum CBD. A full spectrum, or whole plant CBD, is one which contains all other cannabinoids found in the marijuana or in this case hemp plant, including CBN (Cannabinol), CBG (Cannabigerol), and others. We'll get into the taste shortly, but the full spectrum taste definitely comes through in the drink. 

Bang Stoked comes in 5 flavors, some of which are from the original Bang flavor line-up and a few new ones not seen before. The flavors include Black Cherry Vanilla, Frose Rose, Strawberry Blonde, Mango Bango, and what was initially announced as "Guess" we still haven't figured out what the 5th flavor was.

I got a chance to try Strawberry Blonde and Mango Bango, and here's what I thought about them.

What Do They Taste Like?

So I've been super excited to try these for quite some time, and to be completely honest with you, I was a little bit underwhelmed. They weren't bad by any means, but they weren't great either.

For starters, I would say the taste was pretty mild. Stoked was not nearly as sweet as a Bang. Now I tried the new flavors Strawberry Blonde and Mango Bango, I'd be really curious to do a side by side test of say Stoked Black Cherry Vanilla next to an original Bang Black Cherry Vanilla, or a Stoked Frose Rose next to a Bang Frose Rose.

Another thing which really surprised me was that you could actually taste the CBD. The CBD in Stoked is a full spectrum or "whole pant" CBD, meaning it's got all the cannabinoids. Typically with a full spectrum CBD you can actually taste "plant matter" as well, as opposed to CBD isolate's which are for the most part tasteless. 

This somewhat surprised me. Bang doesn't tell us how much CBD is in Stoked, so I kind of assumed it was underdosed, however I'm going to lean towards saying they probably put a decent amount in each can. I'd guess probably somewhere between 10mg and 25mg of CBD per can.

As I mentioned, I felt Stoked was less sweet than Bang, but I also felt like the flavors weren't very strong either. Normally Mango is a pretty strong flavor in drinks and candies and it was more of a mango essence than anything else. 

Would I recommend that you try Stoked? Yeah I'd say it's worth trying. It's kinda like Birthday Cake Bash, if for no reason other than the novelty it's worth trying. If you're someone who likes CBD or takes CBD then you may as well get your CBD in along with your caffeine with a can of Stoked. 

Will I be buying it again in the future? Possibly, I'll probably buy a couple cans to share with friends, and I'll likely buy another one in one of the Bang flavors so I can do a side by side test, however this isn't something I'll be drinking on a regular basis. 

If I had to score these two flavors on a scale of 1-10 I'd probably give it a 7.
