Chef Robert Irvin's Fit Crunch Whey Protein Bar - Product Review

Review of the Fit Crunch Whey Protein Bar

I've been seeing some supplement blogs and sites advertising and reviewing Chef Robert Irvine's Fit Crunch Whey Protein Bars, so when I saw a box of them today at Costco I had to give them a try. They were $16.99 at Costco for a 16 pack, so that comes to just over $1 per bar which isn't bad. If you have a Costco business account you can get them delivered for $18.99 for an 18 count. If you don't have a Costco Card or don't have a Costco in your area they also have them on Amazon for $27 for a box, a bit more to cover shipping expenses and Amazon fees.

Fit Crunch Whey Protein bar

If we look at the supplement facts and ingredients here we can get a better idea of what's in these bars and are they actually healthy? Are they a good snack food alternative? I believe these come in two sizes since I've seen Youtubers reviewing them having larger bars and bars containing almost 400 calories. The bars I reveiwed seem to be about half that size. The bars, of which 18 of them come in this case, contain 190 calories, 8grams of fat, 4 grams of saturated fat, 200mg of Sodium, 14g of carbs, adn 16 grams of protein are a bit high in calories, fat and carbs. This could probably be seen as more of a meal replacement bar for people trying to lose weight or keep their calorie intake down.

If you have a sweet tooth, this is definitely better for you than eating a Snickers Bar, but don't trick yourself into thinking your eating healthy lean protein because this is a "healthy" candy bar.

Healthy Snack for your Sweet Tooth?

How about the taste though? One thing I can't stand is when someone makes a moderately healthy protein bar or protein snack with the intention of making it taste good, all be it at the expense of taking in a bit of extra carbs, sugar, calories, or fats, and then the bar has a terrible texture and consistency, and still tastes like crap. This leaves you eating a high calorie high fat food that isn't even really that tasty.

I will say these bars taste great, probably top 3 best protein bars I've ever had, if not the best. It's self proclaimed to be the first and only 6 layer bar and you can tell when you bite into it you get the cookie bar, the peanut butter, the crunch peanuts, the peanut butter coating, the protein crisps which add a nice variety and crispiness to the texture, as well as the chocolate coating and peanut butter drizzle.

This legit tastes like a candy bar or a junk food like chocolate covered granola bar. It's moderately filling although I will say the bar itself is pretty small considering the calorie intake. I would say if your someone who really needs to satisfy your sweet tooth and want to do it in a semi healthy way while not going off the wagon these would be great. For someone looking for a meal replacement this could be a good option, or for someone who's trying to gain weight or bulk up and is going to be doing intense workouts and exercise the calories and fats won't really be an issue for them.

Fit Crunch Protein Bars Taste Great

So what's the verdict? Well these come in at a great price. They are amazingly tasty. And they aren't the worst thing in the world for you. These are however high in calories, fat, and sodium, for what we would want to consider to be a healthy food.

I do think this could be a great snack food or junk food alternative to someone who is looking to add some extra protein in their diet and looking to satisfy their sweet tooth while still keeping things moderately healthy.
