5% Nutrition Egg White Crystals Are Back, However They Left Us Disappointed

 

Years ago 5% Nutrition had an Egg White Crystal Protein Powder that was to date probably the tastiest protein powder I've ever tasted, so when I heard 5% Nutrition was bringing back their Egg White Crystals Protein at this year's Arnold Fitness Expo I was psyched. Unfortunately the new Egg White Crystals turned out to be somewhat of a disappointment.

So the previous version was available in both a Chocolate and Unflavored options, and at the time cost about $50 for a 30 serving tub. I'd heard 5% Egg White Crystals were making a return so that was one of my first stops at The Arnold Expo, unfortunately upon visiting the booth I saw it was only available in an unflavored option, hopefully they roll out some additional flavors in the coming weeks or months, but there goes the great taste this supplement used to have. 

Then comes the price point $50 for a 15 serving tub, that comes to $3.33 per serving. Typically at Expos companies offer discount pricing however they weren't budging off the full price. 

Generally speaking I'm a big fan of the 5% Nutrition brand, however this one was a big letdown. If you're a fan of Egg White Crystal Protein checkout Gaspari Nutrition's Proven Egg which is a 100% Egg White Protein which features 25 grams of Egg White Protein as opposed to 5% Nutrition's 20 grams, you get 27 servings for $35 compared to 5% Nutrition's 15 Servings at $50, and best of all, Gaspari Proven Egg is available in 5 tasty flavors including Coconut Custard Pie, Banana Nut Bread, Salted Caramel, and my personal favorite Richie's Peanut Butter Cup. 

Hopefully 5% Nutrition steps up their game by making this product more budget friendly and adding some flavors as this used to be the best tasting protein on the market.
