What is Crow Nutrition IntraFast?
Crow Nutrition's IntraFast is a Powdered Nootropic Energy Drink. IntraFast is meant to be used during your fast, or when you need a boost of energy or cognitive function.
In today's post we're going to be reviewing IntraFast from Crow Nutrition. We're a huge fan of Nootropics here at The Supp Plug. Some of our current favorites that fall into this category would be MyoBlox's Skywalk Nootropic Beverage and NutraBio's Alpha EAA Nootropic Amino Fromula.
One category in the supplement space that's really lacking is supplements for fasting. Whether you partake in intermitant fasting, you're on the "Snake Diet", or your just a busy person who doesn't typically eat during the day and want a burst of energy or to stave off hunger, there's not a ton of products on the market for that.
Crow Nutrition is a newer supplement brand that began teasing their upcoming online on Instagram a few months back. As we mentioned in a previous post about the brand it seems the pandemic stalled their release a bit, but we were happy to see them finally hit the market. The brand currently has two supplements a Glucose Disposal Agent called Sugar Shuttle and IntraFast, the Nootropic Energy Supplement.
For those fasting, rather than drinking a gross Himalayan Salt Water or Black Coffee, you now have the option of drinking a tasty beverage.
Crow Nutrition IntraFast Supplement Facts & Ingredients
So what's in IntraFast? When I saw this supplement coming down the pipeline it grabbed my interest as we're big fans of Nootropics here and we're also into fasting. This seems to be a well rounded formula packed with Energy, Cognitive Enhancing Benefits, and some Appetite Suppression.
As I took a closer look at the supplement fact panel which you can see for yourself below, I did notice it packs quite a bit of energy. We have dual caffeine going on here so we have 250mg of Caffeine Anhydrous, along with 150mg of Infinergy branded DiCaffeine Malate. Caffeine Anhydrous is a fast acting caffeine to give users a quick burst of energy, where as the DiCaffeine Malate is a slower release caffeine for longer lasting energy and which should hopefully stave off that dreaded caffeine crash.
This is quite a bit of caffeine though, combined it's 400mg of caffeine which is 100mg of caffeine more than a Bang Energy Drink, and right up there with a lot of strong pre-workout supplements. This formula does not have DMHA however so while it should provide strong energy, it's not going to be too intense for most users.
Taking a look at the entire formula, we also have Alpha-GPC, Magnesium Glycinate, L-Theanine, Grape Seed Extract, Potassium citrate, L-Selenomethionine, and Huperzine A. We'll break down some of these ingredients just below for you...
Alpha-GPC
Alpha-GPC is a Nootropic ingredient which is known to improve memory formation and enhance learning capabilities. It also raises dopamine levels which boost brain function and is known to boost Growth Hormone Secretion.
Magnesium Glycinate
Magnesium Glycinate will help those with low amounts of magnesium in their blood. Magnesium is important to the normal function of cells, nerves, muscles, bones, and even the heart. Magnesium Glycinate also doesn't have the side effects of Magnesium Citrate.
Caffeine Anhydrous
Caffeine Anhydrous is pretty well known. While we don't often think of caffeine as a Nootropic ingredient it definitely is. Caffeine provides appetite suppression, energy, and focus. Caffeine Anhydrous is a faster acting caffeine providing a quick boost of energy.
Infinergy (DiCaffeine Malate)
Infinergy is a premium branded version of DiCaffeine Malate. DiCaffeine Malate is a form of caffeine fused with malic acid and provides a sustained release of caffeine for long lasting energy and a clean comedown.
L-Theanine
L-Theanine is one of the most popular Nootropic ingredients on the market right now and is in pretty much every Nootropic formula on the market. L-Theanine provides increased focus and cognitive function while also providing some releaxation and promoting a positive sense of wellbeing. It's also been known to boost immune function, help lower blood pressure, and has even been known to boost weight loss.
Grape Seed Extract
Grape Seed Extract has a host of benefits but is probably best known for boosting blood flow.
Potassium Citrate
Potassium Citrate is great for kidney function.
L-Seleomethionine
L-Seleomethionine aka Selenium is an amazing nutrient vital to your health. Selenium is a vital mineral meaning you need to get it either through food or supplementation. Selenium promotes heart health, helps prevent mental decline, and is great for Thyroid Health.
Huperzine A
Huperzine A is really popular these days. It's a chemical extracted from Chinese Club Moss. Huperzine A is used for Alzheimer's disease, and for memory and learning enhancement. It's also known to increase alertness and energy.
How to Take Crow Nutrition IntraFast
Here's an important part of this review and I suppose this shows the importance of reading directions. As I point out down below in the review, 400mg of caffeine is pretty potent. After reading the instructions, this isn't meant to be mixed with 6 ounces of water and chugged, this is meant to be sipped throughout your fast.
With that said I'd suggest mixing with a full shaker bottle of water, ideally a large shaker, and sipping it throughout the the morning or afternoon. This should last you an hour or two of sipping, you're not going to down this like a pre-workout unless your planning on having an intense workout and are looking for that type of energy.
Crow Nutrition IntraFast Review | Taste & Effects
So everyone always wants to know about the taste. IntraFast comes in two flavor options Copperhead which is a citrus flavor, I want to say orange and peach. We also have Southern Gospel which is a Blackberry Cherry flavor. While they both taste great, I'm more a fan of the Southern Gospel as I'm more of a berry guy. The flavor is great, I'd drink it alone just for the flavor. It does have a slight chalky or powdering taste to it, however that's not necessarily a knock as pretty much every Nootropic drink has that, I'm assuming its either a specific ingredient or just the amount of ingredients packed into these types of formulas.
As far as effects, this is potent stuff. As you'd expect with 400mg of caffeine plus Nootropics, it's packed full of energy. The caffeine keeps your appetite at bay and helps you make it through your fast. The energy comes on quickly and lasts for several hours with very little comedown.
As far as the Nootropic effects, definitely noticeable. Within 15-20 minutes of taking it you definitely feel the cognitive effects. I felt energized, motivated, and almost felt as if little fingers were massaging my brain. It reminded me very much so of MyoBlox Skywalk and was probably the closest thing I've tried in a while to mimmicking one of my favorite morning stacks which is Serious Nutrition Solutions Focus XT and 500mg of Phenibut.
As a coffee drinker who normally consumes a large cup of coffee in the morning and one after lunch, this probably isn't something I'm going to be taking every single day, however it's definitely something I'll keep in my backpack or desk drawer and take on those days when I need a pick me up.
I should add despite being a coffee drinker I'm a bit stim sensitive, a Bang is typically a bit too much caffeine for me. I'd love to see Crow Nutrition roll-out a spin-off where they either dial the caffeine back a bit or even make a caffeine free version with just the Nootropics and maybe some Green Coffee Bean.
This one is very well dosed in terms of the Nootropics so I've been experimenting with taking a quarter to half dosage to limit my caffeine intake while still getting the cognitive enhancing effects of this formula.
Overall I'm a big fan and would recommend this to anyone who enjoys Nootropics or as a replacement to your energy drinks or coffee. I'd also highly recommend this to busy entrepreneurs as well as gamers and livestreamers who need the cognitive boost and energy.
