Power Crunch Bar Review | Bionutritional Research Group's Power Crunch Wafer Bar

Power Crunch Wafer Bar

A friend recently turned me onto a new protein bar and a new functional snack, and I have to say, it's quickly become one of my favorites. Power Crunch Bars by Bionutritional Research Group are absolutely delicious, and are a tasty and reasonably healthy way to get a bit of extra protein into your diet. These tasty treats combine nutrition and a rich taste to make a delicious snack.

These tasty bars are made by BioNutritional Research Group, and are a fantastic snack option for those looking for something different than your typical dense and chewy protein bar. The crispy wafer texture is definitely a nice change from the typical protein bar.

Power Crunch Bar Wafer

These snacks are almost more a tasty wafer cookie than they are a bar. The particular flavor I tried was the Peanut Butter Fudge flavor which is a fudge chocolate coating over peanut butter wafers. It almost reminds me of a healthy version of a Nutter Butter if you remember those snacks from your childhood.

These bars while they are a functional food, are meant to be a bit tasty as well. Despite that they have pretty decent macros. Not a ton of protein, but at 13 grams of protein it's actually better than a lot of other protein snacks and functional foods on the market so when you compare the taste to the amount of protein it provides I'm actually pretty impressed. Essentially, here we have a desert with only 10 carbs, that's a huge win for nutrition.

It's probably best not to heat these up as it would negatively affect the crunch factor, they taste amazing right out of the packaging so there's no need.

So when it comes to the macro profile we have 13 grams of protein, 10 grams of carbs, and 13 grams of fat.

What's In a Power Crunch Bar?

Power Crunch Bars contain a Proto Whey Protein Blend, Proto Protein is an extremely hydrolyzed whey protein. There's also whey protein isolate, milk protein isolate, palm oil, enriched flower, sugar palm kernel oil, cocoa processed with alkali, fructose, soy lecithin, caramel color, natural flavors, salt, baking soda, and stevia leaf extract.

What's the Verdict?

I'm a huge fan of the Power Crunch Wafer bars. Rating them in a few different areas, taste I'd give them a 5/5. Texture, I'd also give them a 5/5 one of the best textures of a functional food or protein snack I've ever had. Uniqueness, I'd give it 4/5, Finalex's Oatmeal Protein Pies were one of the most unique snacks I've ever seen so I'd reserve the 5/5's for something like that but this wafer cookie is a great twist on your typical protein bar. As far as wholefoodness, if that's a word, just going to give it 3/5, it's not really intended to be a meal replacement or a real food product, but none the less that's where it falls. Lastly energy we'll give it 3/5, it will give you some energy to get through an afternoon or after getting busy and skipping a meal, however it's not really intended to be an energy supplement.

Bottom line, this bar is a great option if you're looking for a small snack with a bit of protein. It's not quite adaquete as a meal replacement but it does make a tasty snack.
