Legendary Foods Previews Spicy Cinnamon Protein Pastry

Legendary Foods Spicy Cinnamon Protein Pastry

Legendary Foods has been on a roll lately, teasing back-to-back flavor drops across its lineup of protein-packed snacks. After word got out about the Apple Beignet Protein Pastry and the Cookies & Cream Protein Donut, the brand is now turning heads with yet another addition to its fan-favorite Protein Pastry: Spicy Cinnamon.

This new flavor takes the classic toaster pastry format Legendary has mastered and gives it a fiery twist. The brand already offers a Frosted Cinnamon Protein Pastry, but this one looks to bring a little extra heat for fans who want something bold. Like the rest of the lineup, you can expect a solid nutrition profile with around 22g of protein, less than a gram of sugar, minimal fat, and only about 200 calories.

The idea of blending sweet pastry notes with a spicy cinnamon kick is something we haven’t really seen before in this space, and if Legendary can pull it off, it could become one of their most unique launches yet.

Just like the Apple Beignet and Cookies & Cream Donut, the Spicy Cinnamon Protein Pastry has only been spotted in an early Amazon listing so far. That usually means the official release isn’t far off — so fans of Legendary’s creative flavors may have three new reasons to stock up very soon.

Legendary Foods Expands Protein Donut Lineup With Cookies & Cream

Legendary Foods Cookies & Cream Protein Donut

Legendary Foods isn’t slowing down when it comes to creative high-protein snacks. After shaking up the game with their Protein Pastry, the brand recently entered new territory with Protein Donuts — soft, cakey, and shockingly macro-friendly. The donuts dropped just a few months ago and have already made a splash in flavors like Pink Sprinkle, Vanilla Glazed, Chocolate Dipped, and the crumb-coated Cinnamon Crumble.

Now, Legendary is adding another classic dessert flavor to the mix: Cookies & Cream. If the early Amazon listing is any indication, this one’s going to be a hit. Each donut packs 21g of protein with no sugar and still manages to stay under 200 calories, making it an easy swap for anyone craving donuts without the crash.

From the preview, it looks like the Cookies & Cream Protein Donut will feature cookie pieces baked right into the donut itself, then topped with a full layer of cookie crumble — similar to the Cinnamon Crumble version, but with that nostalgic cookies-and-cream twist.

The product hasn’t officially landed in stores yet, but with Amazon already teasing the listing, fans probably won’t have to wait long. Between the Apple Beignet Protein Pastry and now this, it’s clear Legendary Foods is doubling down on turning comfort food favorites into protein-packed upgrades.

Legendary Foods Teases New Apple Beignet Protein Pastry

Legendary Foods Apple Beignet Protein Pastry

Legendary Foods is at it again with a new flavor twist on the snack that made them a household name in the protein world — their Protein Pastry. Known as the guilt-free answer to Pop-Tarts, these pastries pack 20g of protein, only a handful of net carbs, and still manage to taste like a legit bakery treat. Fans already rave over flavors like Chocolate Cake, Strawberry, Birthday Cake, and the classic Brown Sugar Cinnamon.

But now, something new is brewing. A listing recently surfaced on Amazon hinting at an upcoming Apple Beignet Protein Pastry. If you’re not familiar, an apple beignet is basically a warm, doughy pastry stuffed with sweet apple filling and topped with a dusting of powdered sugar. Imagine that, but turned into a high-protein, low-carb snack.

The Apple Beignet flavor looks to be a first for Legendary — not just another frosting-and-filling combo, but one that leans into rich, bakery-inspired comfort food. While we haven’t seen official images just yet, the idea of pairing soft apple notes with that signature pastry texture is enough to get people excited.

If Legendary pulls this off the way they have with past flavors, the Apple Beignet Protein Pastry could be one of their best yet. We’ll keep an eye out for the launch, but for now, it seems Amazon may have spilled the beans a little early.

Ghost Levels Up Breakfast Again with Cinnamon Toast Crunch Protein Cereal

Ghost Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal

Ghost, the brand known for turning heads in the sports nutrition world with its bold collaborations, is back at it—this time leveling up your morning bowl with the help of cereal royalty. In a partnership that blends nostalgia with gains, Ghost has teamed up with General Mills to create a Cinnamon Toast Crunch Protein Cereal, marking the first official flavor extension in its growing lineup.

This isn’t just a one-off crossover—it’s a smart move born from Ghost’s deepening relationship with General Mills, the company behind some of the most iconic cereals in American kitchens. From Cheerios to Cocoa Puffs, General Mills knows how to make a breakfast classic. Now, with Ghost’s innovative touch, one of their most beloved brands is getting a high-protein makeover.

Each serving of the new Cinnamon Toast Crunch Ghost Protein Cereal packs in 17 grams of protein, making it a legit choice for anyone trying to hit their macros without sacrificing flavor. And don’t worry, it’s still balanced with sensible carbs and fats, staying in line with Ghost’s functional food formula.

The new flavor drops this Sunday exclusively on Ghost’s website, but unlike limited-edition collabs of the past, this one’s sticking around. Expect it to roll into stores soon, likely taking up a strong spot on shelves next to the original Ghost Protein Cereal flavors—thanks in part to that powerful General Mills distribution muscle.

This launch isn’t just about a new taste. It signals the potential of Ghost and General Mills to redefine functional foods at the grocery level—where mainstream meets performance nutrition.

Warrior Combines Protein and Creatine in Its Latest Muscle-Building Bar

Warrior Bar

Warrior, a well-established brand in the UK sports nutrition market, is expanding its popular range of protein snacks with an exciting new product: the Warrior Creatine Protein Bar. Known for their delicious Warrior Crunch bars and the more wholesome Warrior Raw options, the brand has built a reputation for blending taste and nutrition. Now, Warrior is taking things up a notch by reintroducing a concept that hasn't been seen in a while—combining protein with creatine in a convenient bar format.

The Warrior Creatine Protein Bar delivers a solid punch of nutrition, packing 20g of protein and 3g of creatine per serving. These bars aren’t just your average protein snack; they bring together the muscle-building power of protein and the strength-enhancing benefits of creatine in one convenient package. With a mix of milk protein and collagen, Warrior ensures you're getting high-quality protein to support muscle recovery and growth.

Creatine, a staple supplement for boosting muscle strength and size, used to be a more common feature in snack bars from various sports nutrition brands. However, it’s been a while since we’ve seen a product like the Warrior Creatine Protein Bar, which offers a reliable 3g dose of creatine—a dose typically found in powders, not bars. This makes it a standout in today’s market, where most protein bars focus solely on protein content.

Nutritionally, the Warrior Creatine Protein Bar holds its own against other snacks, featuring 237 calories, 19g of carbohydrates (with only 3.6g of sugar), and 3.6g of fat. These macros make it a well-balanced option for those looking to fuel their workouts while also meeting their daily creatine needs.

For those interested in trying this innovative protein and creatine combo, Warrior is offering the bars in three tempting flavors: Chocolate Orange, Salted Caramel Brownie, and Chocolate Peanut. A box of 12 bars is priced at £19.99 (approximately $26.12 USD), making it an affordable and convenient option for athletes looking to add both protein and creatine to their daily routine.

In a market saturated with protein snacks, Warrior has managed to carve out a unique space by delivering a two-in-one solution that saves you the hassle of juggling multiple supplements. Whether you're aiming to build muscle, enhance performance, or just enjoy a tasty treat, the Warrior Creatine Protein Bar is a game-changer.

The peanuts not only enhance the texture but also add a subtle nutty flavor. The bar offers a perfect balance between smooth vanilla in the background and a rich caramel saltiness up front. The combination of flavors, especially when you hit pockets of caramel, creates a truly satisfying and delicious snack.

Weighing in at 51g, this bar provides 10g of protein, 23g of carbs (including 2g of sugar and 5g of fiber), and 13g of fat, mainly from the peanuts, for a total of 190 calories. Univeral/Animal Nutrition's All New Beef Biltong

Animal Nutrition Beef Biltong

Images have recently begun surfacing online of an all new functional food product from the OG brand Universal Nutrition and their spin-off Animal. The all new product appears to be a Beef Biltong. While we've heard this name before and thought it was something similar to beef jerky, we did a bit of research and a bit of Googling for this one. Apparently Beef Biltong is a thinly sliced, dried, and cured meat which originates from South African countries like Zimbabwe, Botswana, and South Africa. Some compare it to beef jerky, though apparently it's quite different. Beef Jerky is cut very thin and cooked on a rack at low temperatures to slowly dry it out where as Biltong is cured and marinated for 24 hours and then hung on hooks to air dry for up to a week at a time. Biltong is also left in thicker pieces and is a big chunkier than beef jerky.

We don't have much in the way of details to go on but from what we're heaving the all new Animal Biltong is going to feature 16 grams of protein per serving with no sugar or carbs, and from the photo it appears it will come in three flavors including Original, HIckory and Spicy Chili, and likely will be very clean with no additives, preservatives, or nitrates.

We're not sure exactly when this one will be dropping or what the price point will be but we're anticipating it dropping on the Animal web shop sometime in early to mid April.

Hostess Adds Caffeine to their Jumbo Donette's

Hostess Jumbo Donettes Boost With Caffeine

Hostess, the snack food company behind some of your favorite gas station treats like Twinkies and Hostess Cupcakes has just announced an all new caffeinated version of their popular Hostess Jumbo Donettes.

There's no shortage of ways to consume caffeine, there's coffee, energy drinks, capsules, and even gum, well now you can get your caffeine fix with a Hostess Donette. Hostess has taken their well known and popular Jumbo Donettes and rolled out two new flavors, each packing just shy of a cup of coffee worth of caffeine. The new coffee themed flavors Hostess is rolling out are Caramel Macchiato and Chocolate Mocha, and reportedly these will pack somewhere between 50mg to 70mg of caffeine. A standard diner sized cup of coffee typically carries about 95mg of caffeine so these Hostess Donette's will have just shy of a cup of coffee's worth of energy.

In terms of the macros, these are definitely a snack food and not a health food or typical functional food, they pack 300 calories, 15 grams of fat, a pretty hefty 41 grams of carbs, 25 grams of added sugar, and 2 grams of protein.

Typically here at The Supp Plugg we cover healthier foods and snacks and functional protein foods, however this one was just too interesting to pass up. If you find yourself on a road trip late night at a gas station craving something in your belly and a bit of energy you may want to checkout these all new Hostess Jumbo Donette's with caffeine.

VPX Sports, Makers of Bang Energy, Announce New JUMP Real Food Protein Bars

VPX Sports Peach Cobbler JUMP Real Food Protein Bar

Bang Energy CEO Jack Owoc took to LinkedIn of all places to announce an all new "JUMP Protein Bar" from VPX Sports, the maker of the popular Bang Energy Drinks. Now VPX has put out a couple protein bars in the past, most recently their Natural Bang Pristine Protein Bar's which while we had high hopes for them, were pretty gross. It was like chewing on a chemical like tasting chunk of Silly Puddy with a slight Cookies and Cream flavor.  We're hoping these new Jump Real Food Bars from VPX taste much better.

In his post Jack pitches the all new Peach Cobbler flavored Jump Bar, comparing it to a piece of Peach Cobbler which has 540 calories, 57 grams of sugar, 18 grams of fat, and 5 grams of protein, comparing it to a Peach Cobbler flavored JUMP Bar which features just 200 calories, 2 grams of sugar, 8 grams of fat, and 15 grams of protein. The bar advertises itself as having "Soft Chewy Technology", all natural ingredients, and high grade protein. He states the bars are made with real food ingredients like rolled outs, sufnlower butter, and hazelnut butter.

Hopefully these are an improvement on the Pristine Protein Bars which were surprisingly disappointing considering Bang tends to put out some amazing and unique flavors. Right now they are doing an online giveaway to let some lucky users try these new bars but we imagine they should be hitting the Bang Energy website in the near future.

Reviewing Sobar Bars, The Bars for "Smart Drinking"

Sobar Alcohol Absorbing Protein Bar

We recently learned of an all new protein bar on the market, this one is super niche. Sobar bills themselves as not just another protein bar and advertises themselves as being a game changer for smart drinking. The idea that we'll become less drunk and less likely to get sick of we eat prior to drinking as opposed to drinking on an empty stomach isn't necessarily a new one. The stomach leads to as low absorption of liquor where as the lower intestines absorb alcohol really quickly, so on paper it makes sense, and that's where Sobar Bars come in.

Sobar states that these bars are specifically formulated to slow and reduce alcohol absorption. Sobar Bars are available in three flavor options including White Chocolate Almond, Honey Peanut, and Caramel Macchiato, along with a fourth option which is a variety box.

Taking a look at the supplement facts panel and the macros we have a fairly lean 130 calories which is nice in that we're already consuming a lot of calories when we drink, so being able to keep the calories down in the bar we eat pre-drinking is nice. Beyond that it contains 4 grams of fat, 22 grams of carbs which amounts to 8% of your daily carb intake, a respectable 12 grams of protein, and 6 grams of sugar. Looking at the actual ingredients, the main ingredient is milk protein hydrolysate, allulose syrup, and protein crisps, so it doesn't look all that different from your run of the mill protein bar.

While we wanted to like these bars, unfortunately we were a bit disappointed and it seems like your run of the mill protein bar with a lot of marketing hype behind it. We tried all three flavors and while admittedly those aren't necessarily flavors that would really appeal to me, the bars were dense, chalky, and not all that great tasting with a heavy protein aftertaste, despite not having a huge protein content.

Here's the long and short of it, while these bars were created by a medical doctor, the box itself states these bars 1.) cannot prevent intoxidation and 2.) will not sober you up, which is kind of the opposite of what these bars are actually marketed to do. Here's the long and short of it, eating any food prior to drinking will slow the absorption of alcohol and make it less likely you get sick. So if you have any number of choices of food you can eat, as well as any other protein bar, why spend $23.95 for a 9 box when most protein bar boxes come in 12, and why eat a bar with an odd texture and a subpar taste.

While we wanted to like these bars, we wound up fairly disappointed. If you're going out drinking and want to avoid overindulging or falling ill, try something like a Chaser or a Charcoal Hangover Pill, or even better, drink a glass of water between alcohol drinks.

New Butterscotch Ripple Flavored Peanut Butter Coming from Fokken Nuts

Fokken Nuts Butterscotch Ripple Peanut Butter

The Functional Food Brand Fokken Nuts has just announced an all new flavored peanut butter joining their line-up. Fokken Nuts is unique in that unlike other nut butter companies and functional food brands, they don't add additional proteins to their nut butters.

Fokken Nuts Peanut Butters are currently available in a variety of tasty and unique flavors including Cookie Dough, Cookies N Cream, Toasted Coconut, S'Mores, and several others, so it's not a surprise the brand is rolling out yet another flavor. I don't believe we've ever seen a Butterscotch flavored peanut butter before and the two flavors seem like they would pair nicely, so we're anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Butterscotch Ripple Peanut Butter which should be dropping sometime later this week.
